NHS Book Clubbers~

Our 2nd Book Club meeting will be October 31st at 2:05 in the Library! We will be chatting up a storm on the first four chapters of The Help! So, please bring your books and be ready for some lively conversations!

As you are reading on your own, we would love to have you post some of your thoughts and feelings about the book. If there is something you like, have an Aha moment, or if you have any questions, feel free to add a post on below! We love reading what you think and I know the others will too.

Welcome to the NHS Book Club Blog.

Our first book this year is The Help by Kathryn Stockett and our first meeting is Monday, October 17th at 2:05 in the Library Media Center. Many of you have commented that you have heard of the novel through the movie that came out this year. Mrs. Benedetto and Mrs. Page are very excited to get this started!





Our Book Club goals are:

• To encourage reading
  


• Make reading a social experience as well as an individual activity



• Develop verbal expressions of ideas and feelings



• Encourage critical Thinking



• Develop the feeling of belonging to a group, being respected and treating other group members with respect



• Bond with various students from different grades



• Time for reflection



• Time for sharing



• Time for exploration
  


• A chance to see others in a new way



• A chance to see Literature in a new way

Between meetings, a question about the reading selection will be posted on this blog. We would like students to comment on the question. This blog will be live to the public so please be respectful in your posting, use full sentences and correct grammar. If a post is not appropriate, it will be removed.

Also, we would like to hear of some of your "Aha" moments while reading, so please feel free to post those as well!
